Newbury News gets the GOLD
The Newbury Weekly News Group walked away with four gold awards at the Newspaper Society Weekly Newspaper Awards.
In the group for the paid-for weekly newspaper in the UK, the Newbury Weekly News was judged to be the Best Newspaper in the South East region and scooped the gold award at a gala dinner held in Leeds.
The Newbury Weekly News then went on to collect the silver award for Best Local Newspaper in the UK and then took another gold for being the Best Website produced by a weekly newspaper publisher. An additional two golds followed in the advertising categories.
Their new publication, ‘Reflections’ was also judged to be the best niche publication of the year, while an on-line advertising initiative, ‘Clicabric’, on Newburytoday.co.uk won gold for being the most unusual/successful revenue producing idea of the year.
Lastly, the publishers completed the awards ceremony with the ‘Hungerford Victorian Extravaganza’, which earned them a silver in the Advertising Feature of the Year category.
