Local firm links up with brewing giant

A company with ties in Berkshire has announced that it is to link up with the alcohol giant Carlsberg.

The firm B&B Attachments has been awarded a contract by Carlsberg to maintain and service keg clamps, reports Materials Handling World.

Such activity is set to take place at B&B's site in Newbury and at another site in Northumberland, the publication stated.

Additionally, inspectors will look for cracks in the units four times per year to check the hydraulics pressure, it added.

It is believed that this marks a shift for the industry of brewing, with Carlsberg stating that it wanted to link with a company that could maintain forklift truck attachments sufficiently.

"B&B Attachments provide us with good response times on call-outs, they refurbish clamps and also provides with new Kaup keg clamps on a regular cycle of replacement, which will mean that this year we will be purchasing 15 new clamps from them," said national fleet engineer at Carlsberg Andrew Davis.

The attachments firm also offers an aftercare service, it states.
