Sarin not leaving Vodafone
Newbury-based telecoms firm Vodafone have denied rumours that chief executive Arun Sarin is about to resign amid soaring share prices.
A spokesperson for the firm has rubbished the gossip, stating: "I cannot comment on the existence of any rumours, but no one is taking the suggestion that [Mr] Sarin has resigned seriously, because it is totally incorrect."
Share prices in the firm were boosted by 8.5 per cent amid speculation Mr Sarin was to leave the company, the Times of India notes.
However, the firm has denied that this is the reason for share increases claiming rises were a direct result of growth predictions by Telefonica, one of Vodafone's rival companies.
According to Trading markets.com, shareholders have questioned Mr Sarin's ability to push the firm forward in the telecoms market since 2006.
Vodafone has recently released its Christmas handset list stating it has the widest range of internet-ready mobiles.
