Berkshire telecoms giant 'enhances 3G services'
Vodafone, the mobile telecoms company based in Berkshire, has announced that it is going to upgrade its existing 3G network.
Once this is completed, downloads will be available at speeds of up to 7.2 mbps, while uploads will be offered at 1.44 mbps.
It is expected that the service - High Speed Uplink Packet Access - will be rolled out across the firm's mobile network in October, reports vnunet.com.
For users to be able to access such features, a USB modem is also being released by the company, which allows people to connect to desktop computers.
Commenting, enterprise business unit director at Vodafone UK Kyle Whitehall stated that the fresh applications are well prepared for the future.
"These devices are fast but they are also future-proofed - they are ready for our new upgraded network and they are ready for the latest PCs or laptops," he commented.
In related news, Vodafone recently decided to keep its 45 per cent stake in the US firm Verizon Wireless.
