Local Potter star gets hearts racing |

Fans of Harry Potter went wild as a local actor with a part in the new film attended the Basingstoke premier of the latest wizard instalment.
Alec Hopkins, from Newbury, was present at the glamorous opening of the film, entitled Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix, reports Newbury Today. He plays a young character called Snape in the fantasy adventure and stated that he was overjoyed to have landed the high-profile role. Mr Hopkins was also on hand to answer questions regarding the Potter experience at the cinema, after he started the film. He said that he hasn't let fame go to his head at the moment and that he wanted to carry on with a career in acting. "I haven't had any offers to star in other films yet but I love acting and I really want to get on with it," he told the publication. "My mum thinks I am a massive star and I am thinking to myself, 'calm down, mum'." The last volume of the boy-wizard collection is set to hit the shelves latter this month and is entitled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
