County Technology Firm says Sales are Up
Shaw-based Quantel has revealed that its decision to look for new premises is the result of a very successful year.
The technology firm, which specialises in the use of digital technology in everything from television to broadband internet, has confirmed that its current 6.5 acre site in Turnpike Road is no longer fit for purpose.
"Quantel has just completed a very successful year, with product sales up by over 50 per cent," revealed Ray Cross, the company's chief executive officer.
"We need to keep that momentum going and that means a continual re-shaping of our company to stay ahead of a highly dynamic market," he told the Newbury Weekly News, adding that the size of the company's sales and support operations had "practically doubled" over the last year.
Quantel currently has a number of vacancies in several areas of the company, including research, software development, support services and sales and marketing, according to the newspaper report.
