Newbury's Mediasurface Wins Major Deal with UCAS
Newbury based Mediasurface has announced a contract with the Universities and colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) to supply new website, intranet and extranet.
The new communications infrastructure will be aimed at providing greater communications with applicants, advisers and professionals in higher education.
Mediasurface said the contract, which includes Morello software licenses and support, will enable UCAS to streamline the publication of information and advice to university applicants, schools advisers as well as to admissions professionals in UK higher education.
The move is part of UCAS' target to achieve 100 per cent e-delivery and end-to-end electronic transitions with all customers and stakeholders.
Chris Dry, head of communications at UCAS, said: "We already have one of the most heavily used websites in the UK and so far have achieved 98 per cent of all UCAS applications being made online.
"However, to support electronic delivery to other customers and stakeholders – and to remove the continued reliance on paper in parts of our business – we need to challenge some assumptions about what can and can't be achieved.
"Implementing a content-management system will support us in this task and we chose Morello on the grounds of stability, usability, accessibility, scalability, and resilience that fit well with our vision for the next four to five years."
Mediasurface is headquartered in Newbury.
