Residents Asked to Complete Opinion Survey

West Berkshire residents are being offered the chance to voice their opinions on a variety of local issues, in exchange for which they will be entered into a prize draw.

A survey is being mailed to 3,000 households by West Berkshire Council, encouraging residents to comment on improvements to the local area and services provided by the council.

"The survey is 'statutory' in that it has been determined by central government, but the council is equally keen to see that the views of local people are gathered," said Anthony Stansfeld, executive councillor for information and communication at West Berkshire Council.

He continued: "Only by gaining this kind of feedback can the council know precisely what people want and use resources where they matter to them most."

A range of issues are covered in the survey, including transport, recycling, leisure facilities and anti-social behaviour, and the council is also inviting residents to join the West Berkshire Community Panel, which provides regular feedback on local issues.

Mr Stansfeld urged residents to complete and return their survey forms, which will guarantee entry into a prize draw with a top prize of £150 and two runner-up awards of £50 each.
