Networking in Marlow goes on air!
Networking Update was broadcast on Thursday 31st May on Marlow FM. The lunchtime radio programme went out live from 1 - 2 pm and featured local business networkers. The programme is hosted by Jean Wolfe who will be talking to different local networking experts over the next three weeks.
Businesses in Marlow can network every Thursday morning from 7 o'clock with Refer On at the Harleyford Golf Club. Helen Isacke, who is the manager of the group was in the studio explaining that to get the best out of networking it is important to focus on how you can help other people. Paul Bolton who lives in Marlow - and is the owner of Refer On - agreed, and his tip was to choose on a new aspect to talk about each week. Sebastian Brown who hosts the ecademy local group at Henley also focussed on helping others, and thought that once you have found the right group it is important to commit to building long term relationship which lead to trust. Relaxing about networking and making friends was the tip from Susan Kurr who runs Red Handbags, a scheme to support women in networking
Ring in to the studio next week on 01628 566212 with a comment about networking and you could get a free Business in Berkshire account. As this was the first week - and there are no engineers in the studio! - it was difficult to get to the phones in time and keep the conversation going.
By next week Thursday 7th June 1 - 2 pm it should be easier.
Networking Update is hosted by Jean Wolfe of Creative Spark Communications who has been on national radio before, but never hosted a radio programme. So it is a first all round!
