Wine Tasting with Mark Hughes
Bisham Abbey is the venue for our Wine Tasting event on the 4th April. Mark Hughes hosted a tasting for us back in 2005 which was extremely well received and we're delighted that Mark has agreed to host another such event for us, this time to be held at Bisham Abbey.
The wines to be tasted on the evening will compare and contrast the best of what France and Spain have to offer against some outstanding Australian and Chilean examples. The tasting will include Champagne as well as Sparkling Prosecco from Italy to contrast the styles and a light buffet supper will be served during the evening.
The venue is Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, Near Marlow, SL7 1RT. This event will be preceded by our Annual Members Meeting at 7.00 pm. This short, formal meeting is open to IOD members only and will take place in an adjacent room.
Mark is an independent wine importer who is trying to meet the demand for real wines made by real people rather than mass market wines made in enormous factories. The wines he imports have taste, character and individuality, and he will present a wine tasting that will enliven your taste buds and augment your
knowledge.
A light buffet supper will be served during the evening and there will also be a lighthearted blind-tasting at the end of the evening with a prize of a bottle of Champagne for the winner. Should you taste a wine you particularly like, Mark can take an order on the
night.
