Maidenhead set to see commuter boom
Maidenhead could soon be benefiting from a boost in house prices following the development of a new Crossrail link from London.
Businesses may prosper from the likely boom in property prices as commuters flock to this Berkshire town in search of an idyllic hideaway with good rail links to the capital.
The new service will cut travelling times to the city by 20 minutes and will cost £16 billion.
Manager of Haart's Maidenhead branch Jane Matthews remarked: "Maidenhead and the surrounding area is attractive to families who seek a better quality of life and proximity to London."
She added that the town will become "a preferred spot for commuters" when the Crossrail link is completed in 2017.
The proposed route will run from Heathrow Airport to Maidenhead, going underground between Paddington and east London.
Each train is to carry 1,500 passengers and it is thought the service will bring £30 billion to the economy.
