It provides full course details including entry requirements, course content and course duration. BOPS contains information on all of Berkshire’s schools and colleges including contact details, courses available and information on open days.

Small Grants Fun:D Presentation Event

Local projects, which benefit young people from across Berkshire, who have been awarded grants from Connexions Berkshire’s Small Grants Fun:D were presented with giant cheques on Wednesday 28th May at Connexions Berkshire’s Support Centre at Pacific House, Imperial Way, Reading, Berkshire RG2 0TF. The cheques, which total over £12,400, were presented to the successful organisations by David Cook, Connexions Berkshire’s Assistant Director - Delivery Support and Elisha Williams, Youth Participation Worker.

Wrapping up business! Ex-Microsoft business development manager, Jason Alexis, this year decided to wrap up his corporate day job and re-brand his life with a Raccoon vehicle-wrapping outfit. Based in Maidenhead, and servicing the entire Thames Valley region, the 41-year-old invested in his own vehicle-wrapping franchise just in time to show it off at the recent Ideal Business Show in Newbury. Visitors wowed at the Raccoon stand included keynote speaker and former Director General of the BBC, Greg Dyke.

Nobel Peace Prize nominations

Among the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize nominations this year is 98-year-old Sir Nicholas Winton from Maidenhead. In 1939 Nicholas visited Prague to find that the city was filled with people escaping the Nazi occupation of the Sudetenland. He witnessed people living in awful conditions, many of them children.
