Kelly Marks is one of the country's most popular and effective specialists in understanding horse psychology and behaviour. She is also the founder of Intelligent Horsemanship, an organisation dedicated to bringing the best horsemanship ideas together from around the world in an effort to promote general understanding and fair treatment of horses.

As well as running courses for people who are looking to improve their relationship with horses, the team’s work is now finding great popularity with corporations who have discovered how horse whispering can benefit them in both leadership and team building skills.

During 2005 Kelly spent a week at Redwings Horse Sanctuary training staff how to handle nervous and abused horses. She also spent 6 days in Jordan as a consultant for the Brooke Hospital for Animals, advising and training their team of veterinarians.

Her book 'Perfect Manners - How You Should Behave so Your Horse Does Too' has been a best seller amongst horse books and her second major book 'Perfect Partners - How to be the Owner Your Horse Would Choose for Himself' is proving just as popular.

Kelly also featured on an amazing Animal Planet documentary 'Whispering the Wild' which showed her gaining the trust of the mysterious wild horses of Namibia in a matter of hours, so much so they would let her ride them out into the desert.

Her father being a Lambourn racehorse trainer, Kelly has been around horses her whole life, winning BSJA (showjumping) Championships as a child rider and going on to win a Ladies European Championship in 1995.

Kelly met Californian Horse Whisperer Monty Roberts by chance meeting at a French Petrol station in 1993. She often recounts the Zen saying 'when the student is ready the teacher will appear' when she tells the story. She assisted Monty with the writing of his book 'The Man Who Listens to Horses' and she was soon inspired by the prospect of helping horses - and people - using his simple and yet revolutionary techniques. Kelly subsequently put together a number of courses using his methods, becoming the first ever teacher of his methods world-wide.
