Bracknell train station to receive £100,000 make over
Bracknell’s train station will soon reap the benefits of a £100,000 worth of improvements courtesy of The Department of Transport grant and the combined efforts of South West Trains and Bracknell Forest.
The grant which is one of the numerous financial benefits to be awarded across Britain has given Bracknell a well above the average £24,000 plus slice of the pie.
This money will go into the ever-growing funds and is to be allocated to the general improvements of the station, including better access for disabled and elderly patrons which will in turn give more accessibility to the railway networks.
Securing the funding has been seen as a significant move on the way to transforming the station and creating a much higher standard which Bracknell deserves.
Work has already commenced and the first improvements are underway in the form of a passenger footbridge including lifts for easy accessibility to the Reading bound platform.
It is hoped that these new improvements will help generate more interest in Bracknell and that the funding will have a large impact on the Bracknell station.
