Three-day music festival needs backer

Music lovers could be in for a treat with the promise of a three-day music festival set to hit Bracknell this summer.

The possibility of the festival is currently under debate, but South Hill Park Arts Centre desperately needs some financial help from a business sponsor.

If everything falls into place as is hoped, festival fans will get to indulge in a three day music blow out with on-site camping. One idea is to have the main festival at South Hill Park with other events to be held across the borough over the three days.

Organiser William Trevelyan stated: “It is looking very positive at the moment for a three-day arts and music festival in Bracknell”.

“It would be a great thing for Bracknell, something to show what a great place it is to live in”.

“As for the camping, I can’t think of a nicer place to set up a tent than in the wonderful grounds here at South Hill Park”.

Mr Trevelyn said: “It would be a great way to integrate arts across the borough and we are very excited at the prospect. At the moment we are discussing the possibility of linking it with the Crowthorne Carnival and an event in Sandhurst. It would be absolutely fantastic, a really great thing for families and something else Bracknell could be proud of”.

Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) has pledged £12,500, but more money is needed. The one-day Big Day Out cost the arts centre £40,000 last year.

“We would love some local businesses to come forward and support the event.” said Mr Trevelyn. “This could be great for Bracknell – we just need a bit of support”.
