Bracknell Bus Company Fills Up on Soya
A Bracknell bus company has become the first in the UK to convert its vehicles to run on soya oil.
Courtney Coaches has converted eight of its vehicles to 100 per cent soya oil, according to the company's website, and plans to convert the remaining 34 coaches over the coming year. The move has attracted significant interest and the company recently welcomed the prime minister himself, who took a look at some of the vehicles last month. Tony Blair even took advantage of the environmentally-friendly transport system and rode around in one of Courtney Coaches' vehicles while the firm demonstrated the biofuel technology. Company owner Bill Courtney told the Bracknell News: "We have all got to do something. We need to cut down on CO2 emissions and buses contribute to that a lot." Mr Courtney added that it would be a bonus if there were some financial rewards for converting to greener fuels.
