Yesterday, 11th November 2008, saw the launch of the iFestival Thames Valley 2008 in the form of the Thames Valley Innovation Conference at Green Park. 600 business men and women from businesses of all sizes and a multitude of disciplines converged on Green Park at the building next to the giant windmill and discussed innovation in all its forms for a day. BusinessinBerkshire were part of the Innovation Showcase and had probably the best stand at the show! Our display was great and totally enhanced by the high quality designer office furniture from Kinnarps... are you tuned in to their business networking event on the 27th November? We had a nonstop day of presentations to those that cared to listen! It was great, Mary Flavelle had joined us for the day to help us spread the word and found herself on her own mission after a call from Ollie Stoneley, BBC radio’s European Business Editor called from Brussels. This resulted in her searching for Slough businesses to discuss which council was the best to do business with, Slough or Le Mans! Luckily Zahir Khan from Business Link was on hand to introduce Ruth Bagley, CEO for Slough Borough Council who in turn contacted SEGRO and I would imagine Berkshire obviously won the day! You see how by hanging out with Business in Berkshire we can accelerate your connectivity. On the day 7 new businesses joined our party, each taking a BinB Micro Site. One was an old BinB business that had been a member in the early days, drifted off and now was back, totally respecting the power of communication we offer our micro site owners. I was able to introduce some of our new business partners to Marshall Leopold, who is a significant force in the Thames Valley and both parties could potentially benefit from the connection. This is what it is all about. We all need to be connected to as many business people as possible so they can help us move our business forward. If you are not out there connecting with people then you cannot expect much to happen. I enjoy telemarketing aswell, most people don’t, but either way you need to make yourself heard or your business cannot grow. If people know you exist and are clear what you do then they can connect you... so try and stick to one thing or you’ll confuse potential referees as well as yourself! Call 01753 852904 |
