Boxing clever is what it is all about these days. When we heard that Johnny Ross and Russell Brand had caught a cold with Manuel from Fawlty Towers you have to wonder what all the fuss is about.
We have a couple of comedians winding up another. He may be elderly but that never stopped Spike Milligan from sharing a giggle. Yesterday, 28th October 2008, I was driving back from meetings in Maidenhead when I thought, pumpkin! I’ll call in at Tesco’s on the way back and get a pumpkin so we can carve it up and then boil its innards for tea, yuk! Anyway, phoned home and Ali was already at Tesco’s so we had a rendezvous in aisle 2! Strolling around we noticed a book on sale Jonathan Ross “Why do I say these things?” for £8. Bargain I hear you cry... but wait... the title... the news... Do we have ourselves a bit of clever publicity that may even have questions being asked in the House? I’ve seen that conservative chap, what’s his name, Cameron, adding his two penneth to the publicity machine that is ... that simply is. Everyone from every angle is looking to create some noise so they can sell this, that or the other. Hey, and do you know which is the best online PR machine in Berkshire? Business in Berkshire of course and if you haven’t taken advantage of your own BinB micro site, why ever not? You could be page 1 of Google for a whole bunch of stuff relating to who you are and why you’d want to be on page 1. Your news could be flying to all corners of the planet through Google alerts. And you could be telling a few folks locally how they should get along and see you at that opening you're doing next week. Join the party and get your pension fund sorted, your gonna need your own as the community chest has been raided and is filled with IOUs. Johnny Ross is sorting his out. If the government need to cut back at the BBC then at least he will sell a few copies of his booky wook! Well done chaps, got them all at it! How much publicity are these guys getting? 10,000 + complaints and rising... Got an idea for you fellas... offer 1 month’s salary to Children in Need, that's only a couple of weeks away... go sit in some old 19th century stocks outside the BBC and insist on European fair play and use only the biggest ripest fruits ie Spanish tomatoes that will keep the publicity machine rolling and appease the powers at the BBC. Perhaps you could also insist there are maidens dressed in costumes from the olden days that will make you glow inside and keep you warm on a crisp November evening!! And if this plan comes off you can invite me and my gang down to TV House to throw the third tomato... after Manuel’s granddaughter and Ruth Lorenzo (X Factor finalist).
