This weekend we took part in the Golden Egg Festival in Windsor. The high street in Windsor (Peascod Street) was given a makeover! 40 marquees were erected, with Jaguars guarding the top of Peascod Street and a Rock ‘n’ Roll lorry covering the bottom end, we were good to go!
Most of the stall holders were what you would expect but BinB was also there pitched up near the ice cream van... marvellous but we never got round to trying them out! Ali had questioned why the heck people would be interested in BinB on a shopping day and I explained my vision of attracting local business people, being put through the torture of Peascod Street by their families on a weekend. Not that it is torture, as this is Windsor not some uniform high street ;we have a castle you know!! Which all makes for a very pleasant Saturday afternoon... it still feels like I’m on holiday after 12 years of living here! Back to my vision... as business people we are always thinking about business. We switch off from time to time but it’s not the day of the week that counts! So the chance to ask a business question of someone who will give a considered response is just fandibilytastic and so there I was, in my 3 x 3 tent, the walls decorated with A3 laminates we had created from the quality pdfs we produce for our clients. I really enjoyed Saturday, dishing out cards to anyone who caught my eye and many that didn’t! “Internet marketing Sir?” I was Jon, market stall owner in the morning and then, in the afternoon I sat back and let them walk into my web! It was fun, Charlie joined me for a couple of hours before getting one of his other chauffeurs to take him off to have more fun elsewhere. He dished out 30 cards to people walking by. A great first mission and who did he give his 5th card to? None other than Santa’s top man in Berkshire! I struggled through Sunday, not really in the swing of it. Perhaps Sunday really is a day of rest- I’d had my fun Saturday and really wanted to be with the family doing other stuff but hey, got 5 more leads making a total of 15 , so if 3 or 4 turn into business that’ll do nicely. Try some new approach to business. There’s tons of 'me too' stuff around. Be original in your approach and tell us your story and we’ll give you a few column inches if we like your style and you bring good cheer to our newsletter... meanwhile, check out who Hanif was hanging with last week! Enjoy today’s news... |
