Simon Cowell's First Kiss
Six Degrees of separation- or may be less?
"Six degrees of separation" refers to the assertion that any person on the planet is connected to every other by five relationships with other people...
No doubt Business in Berkshire can help with this, but sometimes you find yourself connected in the most bizarre way!
Jon was flicking through the channels (as men do) at the weekend and landed on American Idol on ITV2.
I was passing through the room to make a cup of tea and caught the tail end of a call made through Americal Idol to Simon Cowell. It was an English lady who posed the question' Which was more memorable Simon, your kiss with Paula Abdul or your kiss with me?'
The voice sounded vaguely familiar but I assumed it was hearing an English voice on a US TV show. I carried on into the kitchen, just hearing Simon ask 'Tara Miller- is that really you?' A few minutes later it registered.
That was my aunty Tara who moved to the States over 20 years ago!!!!
By the power of BT Vision, I was able to rewind the episode back & confirm that it was indeed Tara Miller from Radlett, Herts. Tara was one of my mum's half sisters. Her mother Elsie had left my mum when she was just 4 years old and met & married Dusty Miller and went on to have 4 more children, the youngest of which was Tara. They did indeed live a very priviliged lifestyle in Radlett and Elsie got back in touch with my mum when she was in her early twenties by which time she had already married and had my sister aged 3 and me, aged 1.
We lived in a small semi on a council estate in Slough and it was quite bizarre for us as children to be transported into this different world with indoor pools and paddocks on weekend visits!! Tara was in fact only 2 years older than my sister and 4 years older than me, so even calling her Aunty was quite weird!! I guess we spent many childhood weekends at Tudor House in Radlett, mixing with many rich and sometimes famous people.
My mum took it all in her stride, being delighted that she was reunited with her mother & discovering a brother & 3 new sisters! We took her lead, so were never phased by the differences in our backgrounds which has equipped me well in life!
Tudor House was always full of people including Tara's friends. No doubt at some point Simon Cowell would have been among them. Being that little bit younger I never took much notice of them... but you never know who you might have bumped into over the years!
We cannot promise to get you connected to Simon Cowell- but we can increase your bumpability with BusinessinBerkshire so give us a call!!
Have fun...
