Ensure your guests are fed and watered

Yesterday I took part in an event in Reading. I’d bigged the event up through the newsletters and was tuned in to give my presentation on How to get the best out of your social media networking aka "Don't let the bastards grind you down!" at 2:30pm.

Presentation went well, in fact one chap sent me an email during the presentation requesting a hard copy which I picked up this morning … so I tweaked it and sent him the latest, hottest version just prior to writing today’s newsletter. If you’d like a copy then simply request one here. Thank you.

I enjoyed the afternoon talking to franchise owners and discussing opportunities. All was going well until 6:30pm when the food was served. I strolled up to collect my plate and was told it was for “brand new customers only”. Only those who had rocked up for free were able to eat, those who had put the energy in to help drive attendance were left to starve.

When you get on a plane they always tell you, in case of emergency, to look after yourself first and the children second. This way you all get out alive (ish)…

Now I don’t know about you but I need to eat at meal times or I get a tad grumpy and being told I couldn’t have one more wafer thin mint sent my blood sugar to boiling point and I exited stage left to the comfort of my loving family, a pepperoni pizza and BB11.

Next week I’ve been invited for breakfast with the Mayor of Wokingham, I’m sure they will be more accommodating.

There is an old wife’s tail that goes; the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and mine takes a lot of getting through!

A problem shared is a problem halved … so this is now a speck of dust … now “breathe” !!
