• Then make your bid to sponsor THE shed ! • Take a look at how we have helped boosts the FSB’s Membership in 2009. “FSB membership growth in East Berkshire bucks the trend yet again with a massive 4.89% growth and when you analyse what is different about this branch, what does it have that other branches don’t, you find Business in Berkshire’s weekly networking event emails.” offers Jon Davey, past chairman of East Berkshire FSB and creator of Business in Berkshire. Being a small business in 2009 is a very tough place to be. Business is tight for everyone and especially for small business with very limited resources. For our business it has never been tougher and so we have come up with a unique business opportunity in an attempt to smooth the way into 2010 and keep the inland revenue happy at the same time!! www.sponsorTHEshed.co.uk is an initiative which will see the winner exposed to potentially over 2,000,000 eye balls in 2010. In the last year we have seen over 1,100,000 people visit our websites and in October 2009 alone more than 120,000 people visited 433,000 pages of our websites. Having YOUR company logo on each and every page we currently own and have control over could lead to many sales enquiries in 2010. Review the stats... We are using EbaY to manage the bids so if you want to sponsor THE shed then you need to act fast, the auction closes on Monday morning, so make your bids TODAY! Below underlines how we have helped the FSB in grow in 2009 ... and they are not alone, we have helped many business over the years ... review www.customertestimonials.co.uk Thursday 19th November and a couple of hundred members of the Federation of Small Businesses celebrated the Thames Valley Region AGM with guest of honour Mr John Wright. John congratulated the region on being the 3rd strongest FSB region in the UK for business performance, which relates directly to the strength of the membership. Sandy Lovett, secretary of the region and Vice Chairman of the FSB South East Policy unit, commented with slight tongue in cheek, that on balance the Thames Valley Region was in the top spot after all The Highlands & Islands, who were the official number 1, had a significantly lower starting base and therefore a small number increase would represent a higher percentage growth. And that Northern Ireland, officially in 2nd, had their own regional office and so a much higher per capita investment and so should be measured differently. Breaking down the stats still further to a branch level, of the five branches, East Berkshire where the regional AGM was being hosted, had shown the greatest percentage growth of 4.89% against a regional growth of 2.52% and a national decline of -1.12%. So what does East Berkshire have that all the other branches in the UK don’t? They all have committee members leading the way hosting networking events and being activists on behalf of the FSB promoting initiatives such as Keep Trade Local. What East Berkshire has had promoting its events since 2002 is a local business community website in the form of Business in Berkshire. Every Monday a newsletter is despatched to thousands of business men and women across Berkshire driving them to many different events but consistently local FSB events have been promoted, attracting many new business start-ups keen to talk to other local businesses. These attendees have then been encouraged to join the FSB with all its member benefits. Forwarded by the event hosts to the local recruiters and then, when in conversation with recruiters such as David Leon, have had very little option but to sign up as what is presented to them offers such great value for money!
