Value for Valour campaign
|
|||
Firms urged to support war heroes Businesses are being encouraged to show their support for injured troops returning home by helping to retrain them for work in civilian life. The Value for Valour campaign which has been running since January encourages businesses to give discounts to those in the Armed Forces. The campaign would also like to see scheme being extended with a view to helping those who are not able to return to life in the Forces – particularly those who have been injured. It also hopes to convince organisations to help men and women from the armed forces so that they can make the transition from active service to civilian life a little easier. Alun Hicks – whose son David was killed in Afghanistan, is currently asking business to give these brave men and women of the armed forces some kind of employment (be it temporary or a permanent placement). It is hoped that it will also bring some therapeutic value while they are going through therapy and rehabilitation.
