New scheme to be launched in Bracknell
A new business initiative could be set up in the Bracknell area to help provide employment for disabled people.
Bracknell Forest council has proposed plans to launch a local business called Green Machine, which would see disabled people tending to gardens in the area, Get Bracknell reports. However, the council is unsure how the service will be received and is using a questionnaire to discover the level of demand from local residents. Assistant director of community care Glyn Jones comments that the scheme will be a boost to the local area. "This is an innovative idea to not only make the borough look nice, but to provide real employment and training opportunities to people with disabilities," he remarks to the news source. In 1998 Bracknell Forest council took control of services from Berkshire county council, such as strategic planning, library and education. www.businessinberkshire.co.uk
