Self-Employed Confident About Future Prospects
|
The recently published Self-Employed Index from Kensington Mortgages found that 32% of self-employed felt ‘very confident’ about their business prospects with 47% expecting turnover to rise in the coming year.
The Index is compiled every quarter to track the performance and behaviour of self-employed business owners. The results for the first quarter indicate an optimistic mood, with the ‘most confident’ falling into the 35-44 age bracket whilst the 25-34 year olds have the highest expectations of growth over the next 12 months. What’s more, 32% of these businesses believed this growth would over without the next to increase spending on marketing. Few expect to expand their workforce however – just 6% - whilst 53% say they will definitely not be adding staff to their business. When it comes to financing, most opt to use personal savings (48%), some prefer business loans (19%) whilst just 1% would consider remortgaging. www.businessinberkshire.co.uk |
