Queen's corgis make friends with local cat
An unusual friendship has been struck up between Mime, a local pussycat and the Queen's famous corgis.
Mime, a cat that lives opposite Windsor castle, lunches with Her Majesty's corgis on a daily basis, the Ascot, Windsor and Eton Express reports.
Owner of Mime Kevin Lam, who manages the Nell Gwynn restaurant of Church Road, commented that puss is a welcome guest at the royal residence.
"All the security guards know her and always let her in," he commented.
Mr Lam added that many visitors confuse Mime for one of the Queen's own treasured pets, saying: "When people come to my restaurant after visiting the castle they ask me why the Queen's cat is in the restaurant. I keep having to tell them that she is actually my cat!"
However, the friendship hasn't always been as rosy, Mr Lam said, as Mime used to fight with the corgis a few years ago.
Throughout her reign, Her Majesty has owned 30 corgis with Susan - presented to her on her 18th birthday in 1944 - being her first.
