This week has been a little hectic with networking. Monday was our Apprentice launch event and we had a great turn out, new and established business people made new connections and business happened on the day. Check out the article in Berkshire Life, the picture shows some of the day's presenters and me in my knight's outfit!
Shortly we'll be announcing our next event in May. This one will have a different format, looking to assist individuals in the two key areas of business development; Making new contacts and systemising your business.
Yesterday I took part in Refer-On's jamboree. My nose was a little pushed out of joint at the start as they had not made provision for the space we'd discussed at our last meeting. This was soon rectified and shows how you need to have systems in place and also understanding. I'd assumed saying yes to the offer of some expo space was all I needed to do. They had a form that hadn't been filled in! The space was found and the morning was most enjoyable, mixing networking with presentations. There was a bunch of old timers in the room who do the network shuffle and a nice chunk of new faces. Refer-On should be taking some space on BinB soon... once the forms have been filled in!!
Later in the day I had a meeting with one of our new Silver Bullet Members at the IOD in Reading followed by an IOD networking event at Clarkslegal LLP. As our business grows we need to polish up in different areas and listening to the chaps who are involved with the Chartered Director programme, this has to be the pinnacle of one's aspirations. I do like the IOD approach to business development and networking, they've got a good man there in Malcolm Wicks. Check out his exclusive Business in Berkshire offer.
On the way home I picked up a copy of the Business Review, check out page 10, Nature or Nurture? Talk to your local editor and find out what he's looking for, then deliver... it ain't brain surgery!!
When I got in from the IOD and checked my emails, there was one from stgeorgesday.com... St George's Day is on its way to becoming a national holiday, as it should be.
Today I'm a guest of NRG Networks at Charing Cross. They've invited me to give a 10 minute presentation on Business in Berkshire. Dave appreciates the value of what we have to offer. You should check out their new networking event in Bracknell, coming soon.
TODAY is the last day for our fantastic St George's Day Bronze Membership offer...
Enjoy the weekend and Ant should be back from paternity leave so we can enjoy more of his images... what's the betting they have a baby vibe!
