Underselling yourself
Believe it or not I’m guilty of underselling myself!
I’ve created a really positive brand in Business in Berkshire. This has been done slowly, with the help of our many friends & partners we have connected with over the course of the last 5 years. Thank you to all who have helped us in any way… and those who have yet to help!
Most customers have been happy with the service we have provided. One or two have had unrealistically expectations of BinB and therefore been disappointed! All we can do is increase awareness and bump people into each other, we can’t make them buy.
Over the next few months you will notice us selling ourselves a little stronger as we build on the success of 2006. Revenues have trebled and I’m looking to treble again. Ambitious, but totally realistic considering the PR potential we offer and can demonstrate through statistics and not just hot air!
Yesterday I got a call from Keith Steptoe, “John, go do a search for unique Christmas present… flying high on BinB, you need to shout about it!” and we will, next week, Hugh will report on this and the Microsoft Christmas Fair. We put a call out a few weeks back and the response was fantastic, over subscribed in days, they were well pleased and we’ll tell you more when it’s been written up and signed off by their powers that be.
Thanks Keith, this gave me the seed for today’s Jon’s Journal, the first in a week. I will get into the rhythm of sending out my Journal each day, I promise. And you too could be part of it… send me an email saying what BinB does for you, a short testimonial, and I’ll ensure you get a quick mention in despatches. You could also send an email telling me any business pain you are suffering and I could recommend who to talk… this way you and someone else get a mention and others benefit from the information… excellent idea, wish I’d thought of that!
