The Great and the Good
Next week there is a major event for Berkshire with the Thames Valley Innovation Conference on the 10th at Green Park. This will see the regions corporate technology companies and many smaller, just getting started, even just thinking about it, coming together to showcase their latest gismos!
Over 500 people have registered and it will be a very informative day out… go book your place...
Before that, this Friday, Business in Berkshire is launching its GIFT event. Between 12pm and 2pm at Roots Eatery, 73 Grays Road, Slough. SL1 3QG.
We will be taking donations on the door for Children in Need, so even students can afford to come along!!
GIFT is about getting young people and more established business people together to encourage individual thinking and entrepreneurial ship. If we all focus on one topic then it helps create a level playing field and makes it easier to communicate.
Children in Need is our chosen cause and we want young and old to set out on the 1st November and start raising money in innovative ways. Then on the 17th November, between 12pm and 3pm, we’ll come together at the Renaissance Hotel in Reading to celebrate this cause and network with current and future business leaders.
We will be giving our a few prizes to those who have made an extra special effort. These will be for:
• Most money raised – we were looking for a bank to support this but possibly a local newspaper will be digging deep!
• Most innovative idea – SEEDA are kindly putting together a prize for this. I have asked them to make it interesting… let’s see what they come up with.
• Most fun idea – still looking for a sponsor for this… it needs to be fun… any ideas?
Many networking groups are getting behind us on this and hopefully it becomes a celebration of business that becomes part of the annual calendar!
If you’ve got 5 minutes this Friday then pop along to the launch. We will be videoing proceedings thanks to Hanif and our friends at Video Shoot Productions. You could be on the front page of BinB next week and seen by the thousands of visitors who pop by to see what’s new in Berkshire.
