Speed Networking at the IOD
Last Tuesday, 18th July, I attended my first IOD event. I’d been considering paying a visit for some time, about 2 years, but you know how things drift!
Being a businessman in the 21st Century is a hectic role… I guess it was ever thus.
I always wonder about attending different networking event… other things always crop up and the networking takes a back seat as my experience has taught me to focus on busy people who don’t attend many networking events, as they tend to have a budget and a serious interest in what I have to offer.
What a refreshing change…
The IOD speed networking event was well worth attending for four main reasons:
• Higher than your average ratio of serious business people
• The environment of their Reading Hub gives a real quality vibe
• The food was excellent (www.thebraycateringcompany.com)
• And the management knew how to make it flow… sometimes uphill but they are only human!
I came away wanting to go back for more…
