Watching Key Words working their magic
Are you looking to maximize your marketing spend?
February 2002 the first Business in Berkshire newsletter was despatched to a few of hundred… 127 of those email addresses are still regular recipients!
Now we have over 2700 recipients of our newsletter, over 20,000 visitors to the site each month, visiting over 100,000 pages…
What is giving us the greatest sense of achievement is watching new pages flying up Google at an ever increasing rate of knots!
The top search in October is currently - famous people born in October – followed by - Trafalgar celebration. These are all very nice but where are we on business key words… well let’s take a look…
The first time we passed Business Link for the search – business in Berkshire – it felt great… that was over 6 months ago and we’re still first out of 4,750,000 documents. If you search for – business news in Berkshire – 3rd out of 2,380,000 is fantastic. During October, 655 different search strings have been used and pages on BusinessinBerkshire.co.uk found.
What is also amazing is the speed at which new accounts & articles are being found.
Last week we added a couple of new accounts A. A. Clark, the local Vauxhall dealer… do a search for - Vauxhall dealer Berkshire – and their account pops up 5th out of over 56,000.
And then there’s a big industry show on 9th November, Digital Marketing Zone 2005, and we set up an account for them at the end of last week… do a search for - Digital Marketing Zone 2005 – and again were 5th… but this time there are 8,190,000 documents. We sit below netimperative.com, the organisers & theregister.co.uk… both highly respected publications.
Great subject matter is also getting picked up and pushed to the top.
Kirkpatrick & Hope have a mission of becoming the best accountancy firm in the country. Not necessarily the biggest but the best. To this end they run a number of events and the Sales & Marketing Director, Steve Mills, published an article recently on - Marketing without money – a very popular topic, especially amongst consultants! Do the search on Google… 3rd of 47,000,000
We have a similar story with BondPR – European media relations – 3rd of 35,000,000.
And to mix business with pleasure I wrote a little piece entitled – Bad debtors in Berkshire – TOP! Only 15,000 documents about this but I’m sure people wouldn’t want to be found on pages with this title… some may well find themselves top of the wrong sort of pop charts very soon!!
