A million miles for one of your smiles...
Sunday saw 50,000 take part in the Great Northern Run. A thirteen mile, half marathon… that’s over a million kilometres… more than a billion metres!!
Last year we went on our northern castles tour and took this picture of the angel of the north. Around the same time we bought Max, our Tibetan Terrier. Ali’s not a big dog fan but she loves me and having the dog around forces me to go for walks.
We walk around 2 miles in the morning and the same again in the evening. Four years ago I stopped smoking and piled on the weight. Sitting at the computer most of the day means that the pounds are very easily attracted and seem to land on my stomach!
There is a big campaign by the BBC gaining some momentum and we’ll be telling you more about that on Wednesday. Locally, there are two walks in the coming weeks:
October 2nd - Golden Walk through Windsor Great Park

October 16th - The Prince's Trust 10K and 4K Fun Run

Don’t just sit around gaining pounds and reducing your long term life quality… harsh but true… and go do some walking… it’s great for your brain as well as your waistline…
