Creating a Business Plan
How many of us have a business plan? What is the value in creating a Business Plan?
When I was a sales rep we used to have targets and I would sit down and work out how I would achieve or exceed the target to win whatever the latest incentive was.
Moving into the real world… where it’s not just a “nice” thing to do, earning some bullies bonus… on top of a guaranteed monthly income! But is essentially to my wellbeing and that of my family… the concept of a business plan is starting to come into my vision. So I thought I’d share it with you…
I guess I have always had a short term plan. i.e. I need to sell this afternoon so we can buy some bread and milk for tea! (dinner in the south!!) And as we have moved from subsistence to having a holiday option, these plans have become more complex but I’ve never really written any of it down… until now…
I have tended to have ideas, visions, discussions, dreams, gut feelings, a desire to help my fellow man, etc. and these have held me in good stead. We have made many connections and are fortunate to communicate with most on a regular basis through our newsletters. Then, at networking events, we have been able to meet people face to face… for some this has been a little harrowing! And it would seem… stronger connections and rapport being made at one to one meetings.
Over the summer we took plenty of time out with the family and this enabled me / us to reflect on what we been doing and where we want to go. This evolves around doubling our turnover so we have more pocket money for next years school holidays!
How are we going to do this?
