Berkshire alumnus has designs on wedding invites

A Berkshire College of Art and Design alumnus is carving out a niche for herself in the world of graphic design.

Amy Wells has announced that she is to specialise in creating customised invitations for same-sex couples planning to celebrate a civil partnership commitment.

The designer, who claims to have successfully tapped into the eBay market with her creations, will work with couples to design "truly extraordinary" invites tailored to their style.

"The items that we once considered to be disposable become mini art pieces in their own right," a statement about Ms Wells' wedding invitations reads.

Designers such as the former Berkshire student are "rare", it adds, as she works with her clients during every step of the creative process.

Couples also receive a special framed and an autographed version of their invitation to keep as a souvenir.

The Berkshire College of Art and Design was incorporated in the Reading College of Arts and Technology in 1997.
