BBC Radio Berkshire Boys do Charity All-Nighter |
|||
Two selfless radio producers stayed up all night to present a show in aid of Children In Need.
David Sheppard and Andy Stevenson presented a marathon ten-hour show for BBC Radio Berkshire on Thursday night, from 19:00 to 05:00 the following morning, and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of late-night support from listeners. Mr Sheppard told colleagues from the BBC: "We were so surprised at how many people stayed up with us. "We thought people wouldn't listen all night, but at no point did we go more than ten minutes without someone phoning or texting us to keep us going," he revealed. The charity do-gooders said that they both felt "dreadful" at 3:15am and played a few long songs to give them time to recover – "but we were fine again by four". They're extremely grateful for the support and "can't believe how generous people were with their pledges of money".
