Business in Berkshire Micro Sites - Firms Advised to Invest in Graphic Design

Businesses are advised to take design seriously, as this can have a profound effect on their corporate success.

Previous research has shown that those companies which recognise design as being instrumental to their business tend to be more successful - a fact which should encourage other companies to consider investing in the area.

Launching a pioneering business support programme recently, David Kester, chief executive of the Design Council, commented: "Companies that have design at the heart of their business are more innovative, more productive and have a sharper competitive edge.

"We're delighted to be launching a programme that we know really works and that will make design more accessible for businesses around the country."

The Design Council has built up a bank of research which supports claims that design can drive business growth and competitiveness and although it requires outlay, studies have shown that it is certainly profitable in the long term, with every £100 invested in design increasing turnover by £225.
