Bracknell Forest goes even greener
|
Industry groups and members of the public from across Bracknell Forest are being invited to become involved in a new project designed to make the area even greener.
The Going Green event, due to take place in Lily Hill Park, will involve a number of fun-filled activities for Berkshire families to enjoy. Run by Bracknell Forest Environmental Partnership, made up of local businesses, groups and the borough council, it is hoped that people will learn something from the hands-on activities. Activities will include making arts and crafts from recycled material, guided walks and 'climate change bingo'. There are still spaces available at the event and local businesses, schools and groups have the chance to show their support for the cause and the community. "Going Green is set to be a fantastic event and we want as many different groups or organisations to support us," said Gillian Cheetham, chair of the Going Green organising committee. Mary Ballin, executive council member for planning and the environment, said: "This event gives the opportunity for environmentally friendly organisations to teach members of the public about the best way to go green. "I hope a wide range of groups will take advantage of this and join us." The event will take place on July 16th, from 10:00 until 16:00. |
