Hunt is on for top employee
After the nation has been captivated with televised searches for budding pop singers and £100,000-a-year apprentices, local business people are set to receive a share of adulation.
The search has begun to find Reading's best employee. The Reading Evening Post is running the event, which it has labelled "Staff Idol". Run in conjunction with the delivery firm UPS, the paper is inviting bosses from around the city to nominate their best employee to give them a chance of receiving the recognition they no doubt deserve. Contestants can be from any field of business, from the office to the factory. Judges will be trying to find the worker who has the ability to put a smile on the face of their colleagues and customers alike, helping make Berkshire a top place in which to conduct business. Whether they have boosted profits with a clever business plan or merely keep up moral, all nominations are welcome. The winner will be featured in the paper. To nominate someone, email george.hamilton@reading-epost.co.uk.
