Caversham hairdressers a cut above the competition
A hair salon in Caversham, Reading has given a boost to Berkshire business by styling its way to the grand final of a national competition.
Hairdressers from the Indigo Rye salon have already been named as one of the top three salons during the southern England heat, thereby earning themselves a place among the UK's elite. Indigo Rye fought off competition from 25 other salons during the regional final of L'Oreal's Colour Trophy Awards, held in Brighton. Karen Kennedy, co-owner of Indigo Rye, told the Reading Evening Post: "This is wonderful. "We're absolutely ecstatic and excited about going to the grand final. This is a big, prestigious award." The team will now head for the final in London, joined by two other teams from the southern England competition. If they win, the team will earn the salon an exclusive shot to be featured in world-renowned fashion magazine Vogue, not to mention a free trip to New York.
