Windsor is top dog for top dogs
|
A dog from Windsor has made a triumphant return after getting her paws on one of the UK's top canine awards.
At just 11 months old, Martha the Airedale terrier managed to sniff out victory for herself at the world's most famous dog show. She was awarded the Best of Breed Puppy award at Crufts, during the show that took place in Birmingham earlier this month. Her owner Janet Terry, from Old Windsor, was surprised when the judges went for the Berkshire born and bred puppy. "I couldn't believe it. I've won one now, if I never win another one I know I've got one from Crufts," said Ms Terry to the Windsor Express. "She has such an attitude about her of 'I have arrived everybody'. She has won all four shows she was been entered into so far," she said. Martha cannot allow any complacency to set in, however, as she won't be a puppy for much longer. Her next Crufts outing may be even tougher as she will be un-leashed to compete against some wily old dogs. "Next time she'll be in with the big girls!" Ms Terry told the paper. |
