Slough company looking for European growth
|
Slough-based Whellabrator Group (WG) is looking to expand into Europe after being bought up by Mid Europa Partners (MEP).
The company, which produces surface preparation solutions, said that MEP would bring expertise of Central Europe to the company, as well as investment which will help WG target the region.
Robert E Joyce, CEO of WG, said: "In line with this strategy we are significantly increasing our main manufacturing activities in Poland, to further strengthen our position in these markets."
He said the change in owners will not interrupt the firm's action plan, developed since the company was devolved from Veolia Environment. However, the firm's corporate headquarters will be moved from the US to Altrincham.
Mr Joyce added: "The message to all our existing stakeholders, including staff and customers, is that it's very much business as usual. Our customers will continue to receive a very high quality of service in all respects, delivered by the same people who provide it now."
Previous owners Bard & Company offloaded the firm in mid-February, after having acquired the company itself from US Filter Corporation in 2003.
