|
Many lovers will be getting an email as well as roses this Valentine's Day, according to a survey.
A study compiled by US marketing company, Constant Contact, revealed that many small US businesses were planning a marketing push for Valentine's Day and email marketing was their medium of choice.
Direct email marketing was the most popular method of reaching customers, with 76 per cent of respondents saying they were planning to use it for their Valentine's campaigns.
Online marketing was the second most popular medium, with 49 per cent opting for this method.
February 14th was considered as a very important sales day for 55 per cent of the respondents, who were predicting strong sales over the period.
"Holiday sales have become a vital component of the retail sales cycle for millions of small businesses," said Gail Goodman, chief executive of Constant Contact.
"Overall, we found 51 per cent of U.S. small business owners believe Valentine's Day sales are important to their business and are optimistic that sales will be rosy this year."
The survey involved around 400 small businesses.
