Slough park lights up with £20,000 investment
|
People power has brought £20,000 worth of improvements to Slough's Baylis Park.
The improvements took place after concerns were raised by the Baylis Residents Association and Slough Borough Council responded with new lighting and pathways.
A 65-metre long path has been built along with new lamp columns which illuminate 340 metres of pathways from Stoke Poges Lane through to the western end of the walled garden.
Councillor Julia Long, the commissioner for leisure, culture and community services, said: "The enhancements to Baylis Park make it one of the local area's great assets.
"The new pathway and plants will mean that this pleasant garden will appeal to more people, and now they can come and enjoy the open space and not be limited to daylight hours."
Baylis Park is set to improve further in the coming year with new bulbs and shrubs being planted in the memorial garden.
