Berkshire pubs among best in Britain
|
Three pubs in Berkshire have been included in one of the UK's best restaurant guides
Egon Ronay's 2006 Guide to the Best Restaurants and Gastropubs includes the Royal Oak in Yattendon, the Winterbourne Arms near Newbury and The Waterside Inn, Bray.
The Waterside Inn received special recommendation being only one of only four restaurants to be given the top three star rating.
The other two both received high recommendations with the Royal Oak's homemade ice creams getting special praise and the Winterbourne Arms' T-bone steak being highlighted.
Egon Ronay said in the Newbury & Thatcham Chronicle: "The food at the Winterbourne Arms and the Royal Oak richly deserve their place in the guide. Our inspection concentrated on the quality of their food which inspectors found impressive."
People heading out to eat in Berkshire also have the chance to go to The Fat Duck in Bray, which was recently named the best restaurant in the world by Restaurant magazine.
