Slough illuminated by jungle star
|
Slough's Christmas lights have been switched on by pop star and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestant Peter Andre.
Andre pushed down the plunger to bring light to the streets of the town with the help of mayor Latif Khan.
There was also a fireworks display and the singer performed his hit Mysterious Girl and tracks from his new album.
Councillor Khan told the Slough and Langley Observer: "Everyone's been enjoying themselves tonight, you just have to look at the crowds. It's also nice to see that everyone from all walks of life has come out."
Local groups of dancers also entertained the crowds in the event organised by Slough borough council Slough Town Partnership, the Slough Express, the Queensmere and Observatory shopping centre.
Fans of Andre's wife, model Katie Price aka Jordan, however, were disappointed as she did not turn up to support her Australian husband.
