Reading boss named manager of the month
|
Royals boss Steve Coppell has picked up the manager of the month award for October.
Reading is now second in the Championship three points behind the leaders Sheffield United but with the tightest defence in the league, letting in just nine goals and only being beaten once, prospects for the future and a place in the Premiership look strong.
Chris Kamara, TV pundit and chairman of the awards panel, said: "Reading's victory over Sheffield United was a massive result not only for the Royals but for the rest of the Championship.
"It looked as though Sheffield United may be about to run away with things but Steve's side have pegged them back this month with some great results and now have the top spot firmly in their sights."
A major test for the Berkshire team is to come on November 29th when they face Arsenal in the Carling Cup at Highbury.
The match will certainly be a major test for the club and give them a flavour of things to come if they head up to the dizzy heights of the Premiership.
