ROYAL ASCOT FORECASTED WINNERS FOR FRIDAY JUNE 19th
2.30 Albany Stakes (Class 1) (Group 3) (Fillies) 6f
Before the arrival of the USA’s Wesley Ward at this year’s Royal Ascot, with his two blitzing wins in the Queen Mary and Windsor Castle stakes this week, all heads would have been turned towards Aiden O’Briens easy Naas Group 3 winner LILLIE LANGTRY as one of the bankers of the meeting! Now, however, we have to seriously consider AEGEAN following the trainer’s confidential statement that this his best horse yet to run.
Main bet: AGEAN 5/2
Next best: LILLLY LANGTRY 3/1
3.05 King Edward V11 Stakes (Class 1) (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) 1m 4f
If at first you don’t succeed …… BLACK BEAR ISLAND is on a recovery mission following its Derby performance. However, BLACK BEAR ISLAND was the winner of the Dante and should be well suited by this trip even though having to concede 3lb all round.
Main bet: BLACK BEAR ISLAND 3/1
3.45 Coronation Stakes (Class 1) (Group 1) (Fillies) 1m round.
GHANAATI won very well at Newmarket by puling off a 20/1 surprise in the 1000 gns and is out to confirm that superiority today. It is possible to look at BALIYANA as an alternative as made all the running to win at Leopardstown in May.
Main bet: GHANAATI 9/4
Next best: BALIYANA 9/1 each way
4.20 Wolferton Handicap (Class 1) (Listed Race) 1m 2f
Ed Dunlop, trainer of STONE OF SCONE said this morning that although things didn’t go to plan at York he has been trained specifically for this race and is in good form with ground OK and draw good.
Main bet: STONE OF SCONE 5/1 each way
4.55 Queen's Vase (Class 1) (Group 3) 2m
DHUSHAN won with plenty in hand at Chepstow last time and must be taken seriously as well suited for the going with stamina though pedigree on his side. Won’t have it all his way though as YANKEE DOODLE likely to close at hand and will relish the step up to 2ml.
Main bet: DHUSHAN 3/1
Next best: YANKEE DOODLE 8/1 each way
5.30 Buckingham Palace Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) 7 furlongs.
A cavalry charge of 29 horses to the line. Last year’s winner Regal Parade came in at 25/1 so would expect no less here. SWIFT GIFT may return a gift in the last race of the day as recent Victoria Cup winner and previous Goodwood winner SOUTH CAPE could be there or there abouts. However, would also include MISTER HARDY in the rankings following a convincing win at Chester.
Take your pick: SWIFT GIFT 14/1 each way; SOUTH CAPE 20/1 each way; MISTER HARDY 20/1 each way.
GOOD LUCK!
