Founded in 1840, the Queen Anne Stakes commemorates the monarch who established racing at Ascot in 1711. Awarded Group 3 status in 1971, it became Group 2 in 1984. Elevated to Group 1 in 2002 the race now attracts the season’s leading older milers from across Europe.

We now need to look to HARADASUN to reverse last month’s 6th place in the Lockinge and CESARE, who is set to bid for his 5th victory. CESARE who loves Ascot and can handle most conditions will be best served if there’s a good pace. In addition SAGEBURG, lightly raced, put in a career-best effort at Longchamp and could be a star miler in the making. TARIQ although showing a good turn of foot at Goodwood may find the race this time more of a struggle.
