Business Awards - Directors of the Year 2008

The Managing Director of Highcross in Newbury, Peter Gubb has been named as one of Deloitte’s Directors of the Year for 2008.

Every year chartered accountants and business advisers, Deloitte bestow this honour on five directors from businesses in the South.

The criteria in order to qualify for this award includes:

• Significant business performance
• Ability to overcome obstacles and learn from experience
• A will to succeed
• Establishing a culture that helps achieve clearly defined goals

The award organisers highlighted Peter Gubb’s achievements stating that he had built a property fund management company specialising in commercial investment and development with assets of more than £1 billion. They also noted that Highcross is highly regarded in the boardrooms of America’s blue-chip financial institutions although Highcross hasn’t ventured from the UK in terms of its work.

Highcross operates across the UK from its head office in Newbury and regional offices in Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Peter Gubb became Managing Director in 1989 and within eighteen months, Highcross was the largest industrial landlord north of the border.

Highcross also owns Bizspace, the UK's biggest flexible managed workspace provider, Highmore Homes (previously Kenmore Homes) and a range of properties from start-up workshops and serviced office suites to large industrial estates and commercial headquarters.
