Berkshire Businesses receive awards
Companies in Bracknell are receiving nationwide acknowledgment after two companies have made it into the Sunday Times’ list of top 100 businesses to work for which was held at Ascot racecourse recently.
In one of the biggest surveys of the workplace across the UK, the award looks at the views of more than 180,000 workers. Businesses are divided by size into three categories.
Businesses which employ 50 to 249 employees will compete for the 100 Best Small Companies to Work For, businesses with 250 to 4,999 employees for the 100 Best Companies to Work For and companies with more than 5,000 employees compete to be one of the 20 Best Big Companies to Work For.
They are then assessed by their employees across eight key areas. These include company leadership, employee wellbeing, relationships with managers, relationships with colleagues, feelings towards your company, personal growth, fair dealing over pay and benefits, and the organisation’s record for giving something back to society.
Boehringer Ingelheim, a pharmaceutical company in Ellesfield Avenue was placed at 58th best business in the UK to work for, with Towry Law, in Western Road posted at 73rd.
Following the success of Boehringer Ingelheim and Towry Law was company Solsis, in Cookham Road who won the award for business growth, an award created by South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). Not surprising with a 95 per cent of renewal from customer contracts annually.
The South East business awards celebrate everything that is good about business in the region and both companies where proud to have won the prestigious award.
Digby, Lord Jones, Minister for Trade and Investment was the keynote speaker at the events. He mentioned the South East’s exceptional businesses and how these awards where a great way of recognising the region’s achievements.
